This Santoku knife is precision-crafted from a single piece of high-carbon German steel, then heat fired and hand-grinded for ultimate sharpness. The slender, straight blade is designed to chop tough foods with ease and contains just the right amount of rock for chopping herbs or mincing onions. The glossy full handle provides a balanced and comfortable grip and the engraved Babish logo on the butt covers things nicely. It’s the backbone of the kitchen that will keep you moving between piles of veggies and tough cuts of meat. Excess heat and detergent from automatic dishwashers may damage or discolor the blades, so dishwashers are not recommended. Do not let the blades soak in water. Do not leave food on the blade after use, as this may cause stains. In most cases, permanent stains can be removed easily with a standard stainless steel cleaner and polish. Use a sharpener and sharpening rod between uses to keep your knives sharp. It is recommended to use a sharpening stone or professionally sharpen your knives once or twice a year. (See more sharpening instructions below.) To keep sharp edges, use knives on a wood or soft plastic cutting board. Hard surfaces such as worktops, dinner plates, or glass cutting boards will make the blades dull. The knives are not made for chopping bones, frozen foods, or other hard objects. Love this knife and will love you again. Use extreme caution to protect from injury. These knives are very sharp. I’m not kidding, I seriously messed my finger with this knife when we were shooting promotional videos, and I kinda know what I’m doing. Never use the knife as a can opener, pry bar, screwdriver, wedge, or hand tool. Never hold the knife by the blade. Keep the sharp edges facing away from you when placing the knife down. Never try to catch a falling knife. Keep all knives out of children’s reach. Store it properly in a knife rack, roll, or other safe place.
